A right brainer with a left brain pendency, I have swerved from studying AI in the ‘80’s to leading World Press Photo and Doctors without Borders in the 90’s and then into 00’s through several startups. Now, in the ‘10’s I lead an innovation company, bring together ecosystems of innovators and laggards, and together with them try to understand how we will shape the 21st century. I do through a lens of technology, culture and social impact.
I chaired the Melkweg Foundation for many years, am a proud member of Advisory board of the Impact Hub, coached many start- and scale ups and lead Amsterdam’s A Lab,. Recently I co-founded a new company that will focus on countering the global food crises: OneFarm.
The future of work, talent and education have my attention, one of the reasons I helped found a primary school, De Verwondering, that seeks to integrate educational insights and offer an improved educational experience.
I am a beekeeper, skydiver but above all the proud father of four amazing people.
